Beautiful Eye Candy...a tribute to dear friend

I'd like to share with you this beautiful quilt some of my patchwork friends are putting together for a dear patchwork friends husband...
Sadly our beautifull, elegant, brave dear friend Lorrae lost her battle with cancer a few months ago, she is very dearly missed.
Some of our girls went over to help her Dh sort out her stash and see what unfinished projects they could  finish up for the family. There were a couple of children's quilts, and also a whole stack of pansy fabric diamonds already cut out...pansies were a favourite of Lorrea's.
Her dh asked asked if we could incorporate the pansy diamonds with his favourite photo of Lorrea into a quilt as a keepsake for him...isn't that just beautiful...
The girls came up with this design, inspired by the Jane Austin quilt...just so perfect!
They are going to add a gorgeous purple framing border then a wider cream border..
Beautiful, beautiful work girls... a lovely tribute to our dear friend Lorrea...
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Laura, another of my patchwork friends is making this stunning black, white, grey and silver quilt for her daughter....this photo just does not do it justice...the silver in it gives it a lovely sparkle, the black and white that crisp stunning effect...
How gorgeous is this centre medallion piece..perfect flying geese...
Stunning....

Enjoy your day...live it to the fullest....♥

  11. I agree about a photo of a neutral quilt not doing it justice. Same with a tan/cream/ecru quilt I made. It almost sparkled in person, but a photo can't show that. I'm sure the black/white/silver Q is as stunning as we can imagine.

The quilt made as a tribute to your friend is very special and definitely memorable to everyone involved.
