Kaffe Pinwheels...

Couldn't help myself...
I told myself I wouldn't start something new until I finish something first....but, you know how it is, one gets a bit bored with something, some inspiration and enthusiasm got the better of me, and I just had to make these pinwheels . I felt the need to get into my studio and hear the buzz of the sewing machine zipping along again. The hand sewing can wait a little while!..
At last...my order from Hancock's has arrived, seemed to take forever, I really started to think it may have got lost. I bought these repros to use in my Calico Garden quilt...gosh it's so hard to pick out colours online. They are brighter than they look here, but I really thought these were a bit more brighter.
How about those lovely quilts on the cover of the catalogue that they kindly included with my fabrics and all the beautiful fabrics....so tempting, with the $ being so good right now, it would be so easy to get carried away shopping here....must be good, I have enough to get on with right now!
That's another week gone already ...have a lovely weekend ...♥

  1. I love the pretty pinwheels Julia. I have just posted a lovely mansion decorated for Christmas that you and Reno might enjoy seeing (that and a VERY young John!!!)

Wishing you both a wonderful weekend. Love you, Mildred

  3. I love making and using the little pin wheel block, it is never out of place. I have bought a few things from Hancock's and I always find the fabrics seem "different" to what I ordered. I have never had that problem with any other store. I always say never again, but when they have a "no postage" promotion I usually fall to temptation again. I suppose the fabric will get used eventually.

  4. Great pinwheels. I know the feeling of wanting to start something new. It happens to me all the time!
I think the fabrics look beautiful and funny. I can imagine, comparing the fabrics you use in the projects on your blog, they look a bit too brownies ( I am not sure if this is English).
    Good weekend,

  6. Your pinwheels look great! I've been having problems with my orders of Hancocks too. I wonder what's up. It never used to be like that.

  7. I always love reading your blog and seeing what you are doing, so much inspiration here. I'll join the group of complainers regarding Hancock's. I live less than 100 miles from Hancocks's Paducah. Love going to the big warehouse, but ordering on line is just not up to par with all the other great on line quilt shops. It takes forever to get anything from them.. I don't understand. There are always so many employees filling orders in the warehouse while I shop.. Can't understand why things don't go smoother. It's really too bad..

  11. What great pinwheels. The bright fabric is so different from the reproductions that you ordered. Both are lovely in their own way though.

  16. The pinwheels are gorgeous, Julia! I know how it is when you need to try a new project just to get your hands on all that new colored fabric. It is irresistible!
