Auditioning a Border...

Moving right along with my pinwheel quilt...it's going together like a dream..
I have added a narrow spot border, and played a bit with different ideas for a Kaffe border, but....

....after popping into my local patchwork group for a bit yesterday, I was inspired by a couple of the girls to do a piano keys border....what do you think!
I had a little play with the border yesterday afternoon... As I don't have a big enough piece of Kaffe for a plain border,... I'm thinking this will really work, it will incorporate all the different Kaffe fabrics...I think this is the way I'll go....and I like it! ....♥

Shameless Brag...couldn't help myself.

I bought the lasted Aussie Patchwork and Quilting book... what a lovely surprise and thrill it was to find my Dear Jane quilt featured in the review of the QuiltWest exhibition we had in May of this year..I know I will never make another quilt like this..so this one is very special to me...

It's starting to feel a lot like summer here...I love the warmer weather..

I hope you have a great day...♥

  1. Good choice Julia, I think piano keys and checker board are two of my favourite finishes. The piano keys will be a perfect border. I will be home soon and will have to go out and buy a copy of that magazine with your work featured. How exciting!

  8. The piano keys border will work famously! Will you keep it all prints, or toss in some light background fabric? You know, you could add a white square to alternate ends of each piano key... just a thought.

Hey congrats on the quilt review in the book! You're the bomb!
