Itsy Bitsy Spider is...

all finished....
I thought about adding a border, I auditioned the blue fabric for the border, but it took away from the half spiders around the edge...so I just bound it instead, and really that's all it needed.

I wasn't sure what to do about the quilting...played around a bit trying to do free form spider webs, but I made such a mess of it, I unpicked it and simply did just free form meander quilting all over...grey thread on the webs and cream thread on the stars.

At first I thought...oh, those stars really stand out so much , and tossed up whether to do some applique on them or not...but not won the vote..

She's all washed and beautifully soft and wrinkled up.....I think the spider webs will look lovely on my family room couch...shouldn't scare anyone too much!..

Well I guess saving all those scraps was worth it in the end...what was left wasn't worth keeping..

Spring has sprung...gorgeous day coming up, might be nice to take a walk along the beach.
Have a great day...

  1. It looks absolutely fantastic! I can't believe you've already quilt and bound it though. I have quilt tops that over 5 years old and still haven't been quilted. I'm such an under achiever...LOL.
