DJ Finished...& some brights!

All finished...this really was a lot of work, all those thread colour changes, but it was well worth it... I love it,,I'm so happy!
Now it's off to the framers to get framed and then to find a special spot to hang it up to enjoy...♥

New arrivals...they're here...my new bright Kaffe fabrics..
OMG...they are so bright and the designs are so big...they are beautiful, but I have no idea what to do with them.
This is going to take some thought as to how I'll use them, it seems a shame to cut into them...so I think I'll just enjoy them for a while and wait to be inspired by something I see...
Have you been over to Glorious Applique...now that's an inspirational blog, lots of Kaffe and brights there ...I just need the courage to jump in out of my comfort zone and get started...then I'm sure I'll love it!....
Oh, now I also need to choose a background fabric, and perhaps some brights with smaller prints to balance and off set the big prints....Off to shop....

  2. That cross stitch is the most beautiful I've ever seen Julia. What a tremendous challenge and it is so lovely. I love your new fabrics and hope you find just the right project for using them.

  3. Your DJ cross stitch is spectacular!!! It will be a lovely piece of art for your walls for years to come! I am always stumped about using big prints, too....as I feel it's a shame to cut them and "lose" the print...and then I rarely find anything I like that allows the quilt pieces to stay large enough to preserve the print. I guess that's why my few large-scale prints are still sitting unused! I am thinking you will be better at handling that than I am, though.

  7. Your DJ cross-stitch project is impressive, Julia. Congrat's on finishing it. Are the blocks 4-1/2", the same size as the pieced blocks?

I just can't cut into my Kaffe fabrics. I have a FQ set plus a few more, and I can't make that first cut yet. One of these days I'll have to jump in and do something. Till then, I pet them frequently, and my daughters look at them with envious eyes.
