I'm in Love With....

...Patrick Swayze...
This is how I spent my afternoon yesterday. It was pouring rain outside, but I was huddled under my Dresden and Dolly quilt, hand-quilting it , while watching the first of 8 discs of North and South...my favourite chocolate close by....I was very careful not to get any on the quilt.

I've always liked Patrick... he was amazing in Dirty Dancing, and loved him in Ghost, I think I've watched Ghost 3-4 times over...so sad he's no longer with us.
I put my D&D quilt on the bed to see how it going to look...I'm loving it so far..

Still lots of hand quilting to do on it, but I have another 7 N & S discs to watch so I'll enjoy doing both..
Still raining here...Happy stitching...♥

  7. Dresden and Dolly is absolutely beautiful. Is that your original design? What fabrics did you use. Can't wait to see it finished.

  9. Julia it looks lovely and you are doing what I love best, hand stitching. Do you use a hoop? Did you applique the dresdons on a continous piece of fabric or is the fabric pieced.? It is very hard to tell and looks continuous.

  21. Love the Dresdan plates
We recently watched North and South as a mini series on TV and loved it right up until the very end when we felt it left so many things unfinished and wondered if there should have been more
Iam watching out for the DVD now

  28. Julia, friend, my goodness. I can't get over the beauty of this quilt. Your work is so, so, well gosh friend... I have to go look up some great writers to see if I can come up with some great words to express what I'm feeling.

I really am speechless. Again, I want to be like you when I grow up. So talented, kind and pretty.

  29. Julia, I think we all loved Patrick Swayze and he left this earth way too early.

Your Dresden is so gorgeous. I know I've said it before. Your hand quilting is so lovely too.

One day I will make one of these. Maybe after Grandma's Flower Garden :)
