Big Morning Tea.....Fundraiser for Cancer..

May is our nations annual fundraiser month for Cancer...all around the country, groups hold big morning teas, have fun with friends and raise money for cancer.. My patchwork group, The Pelican Quilters were invited to join The Safety Bay Quilters in a get together fundraiser yesterday...it was such a great day!
The host girls all made yummy cakes , we had raffles, a lady there selling some beautiful natural beauty products with part proceeds going to the cause...she also had lavender scented heat pads to sooth quilter's aching necks and shoulders ...some were in the shape of teddies and lambs...so cute and cuddly!...
I thought a collage would be a nice way to showcase some of the beautiful quilts we had for show and tell..
The first two quilts together in the left top corner are for two sisters..isn't that a great idea...made in two different colourways...
I hope your able to click on the picture and bring it up bigger...
This gorgeous quilt was made by Dana...Hi Dana. Dana said she made it out of 5 inch squares...now isn't this a great scrap buster quilt...
There was so much food left over, so plates were made up and we were able to buy a plate of yummy cakes to take home...a couple of sponge cakes were auctioned off...hmm.. Dana couldn't help herself she put in a good bid and took home a yummy sponge cake..
Our group of girls each cut up packs of 6 1/2 inch squares and donated them to be raffled off.

As we were leaving Dana calls out..."girls the flowers on the tables are for sale" a donation for the cause...and then just out of fun, Dana says... perhaps the chairs may be next!!
All in all it was a great fun day...not sure of the final total, but I think a lovely amount was raised.

Thank you to the Safety Bay Quilters for organizing a great fun day.....♥
