Mini Logcabin..

How cute is this..mini log cabin.
As yesterday was National Quilt Day in the states, I thought I would join in and make a little mini quilt...a good excuse to start something new, something I could put together in a day!
I've been wanting to make a log cabin quilt for a long time, and fell in love with this darling little quilt in this book that I posted about a few days ago.
I really enjoyed working on this mini...it measures 15" x 20"..
One day I'll piece a big log cabin quilt...one day!

While are are hanging out for some rain here in the west...we've had no rain for 3 months ...
There's a cyclone happening up in the north east of our country... I have a dear friend there who has her home up for sale..I hope everyone is safe and no big major damage to their homes..
Take care...♥

  4. Very nice little log cabin Julia. I love it. The colors are great and I love the center being pink. I am also working on a little log cabin in reproductions and have that book Prairie Children and Their Quilts. So many wonderful projects in there.
I really like your spools here, I love the look of having the same background print for all of them. It really makes the spools stand out.
    Have a great week,

  19. Your little quilt is beautiful and it is an idea that I have been toying with lately. I too follow Kathleen's blog and have bought her book Remembering Adelia. It is great to have these books on hand for inspiration and colour ideas. I got to your blog via Quiltsalot. Will visit again.

  20. You could have a bit of my rain if you like. The dams for Brisbane are full for the first time since 2001, and my lawn is a nightmare.

  21. Love your mini quilt Julia, We didn't get any rain either, just a lightening show miles away. I checked out the Elders weather page and there doesn't seem to be much coming for us. Meanwhile we will just have to keep on praying and sewing. Happy Monday to you.

  22. Sweet little log cabin quilt. Isn't it nice to make something that you can finish in a day once in awhile.
    Will you hand quilt it?

I just said a little prayer for rain to come your way.

  24. I just love your mini Log Cabin. It's so sweet. I, for some reason can't sew a straight Log Cabin to save my soul!!! And I love your spool blocks too. I saw that book at the quilt store and didn't buy it or even look at it. I think I'm going to have to take another look.

  26. You made it in a DAY?? How long are your days over there??!! It's great. I plan to have a go at one (mini like yours) one day; that log cabin pattern really appeals to me.
Remember the tutorial you posted for your Hassif? Well, a friend of mind wanted to make a sewing kit, and she spent a while looking on the Net, and Google threw up your blog with the Hassif. When my friend showed me I said "let's both make one - I've been wanting to make this forever!" My friend is more into paper crafts than fabrics, so I was able to guide her in making it.
Don't suppose the hailstorm came anywhere near you? Just hope it's not on its way to Melbourne. One was enough.
