A Finish...dolly quilt

Another finish for March...doesn't the mini logcabin dolly quilt look so cute on this little doll's pram...It's just like playing dolls again !
I hand-quilted all the logs in the ditch...so quick and lovely to do..I think all up the quilting took about 6 hours....I think I'm hooked on these little quilts....♥

Be careful what you wish for...
We had not had any rain for about 120 days...the garden was so dry, my poor lawn has never looked so sick....and not helped by my Dh who tried to kill the weeds in the lawn, but managed to kill alot of the lawn as well...shush, we won't talk about that!
So wishing for some badly needed rain.....it came, boy did it rain, after a beautiful morning the storm seemed to come out of nowhere...we had the worst storm in years.
It came down with a vengeance, golf ball size hail stones, three months of rain in one day, flooding, power down and damage everywhere.
My DGSon 's house was flooded, and his car full of hail dents damage...here's a news report you might like to read....we were very lucky not to get any damage.
Today is beautiful, just like it's summer again....crazy weather!

Happy stitching...♥

  1. I'm so glad that you got through the storm ok, so sorry for your DGSon's flooding and the dents. We get some bad storms here, too. The doll quilt is adorable.
So glad that Lurline is home and improving. I had to drive 25 miles to our work one day, on my day off, when DH locked his keys in our car when it was running. At least there was a parade that day, and I got to watch it, lol.

  6. Your doll quilt is so cute over that pram. I am going to make a couple this year. My friend has heaps all folded in half, stacked in a pile on a chair and they look fantastic!

So glad you survived the storm. It looked dreadful on the news. My girlfriend in Melbourne had 3 cars damaged and 3 windows and roof tiles broken in the one they had a couple of weeks ago. It looked like you guys got something similar. Rain is good, but not that much in one day.

  8. Living in Tx the crazy weather is the norm at this time. I won't mention the hail because my mom always told me not to talk of the devil. LOL! I hope DGS had insurance and can recover soon.

Your doll quilt is gorgeous. I love the look with the antique stroller and doll. It looks perfect.

  10. I think I'm becoming addicted to mini quilts, Julia and yours is no exception. They seem to be popping up all over blogland.

The colors are stunning and give it a vintage look and feel to it...my favorite.

  13. Your quilt is so sweet Julia! I can't believe it only took 6 hours to quilt. Gotta love those smaller quilts. Hope that the rain helped out with all the dryness, but it's a shame that it all had to come at one time.

  16. Sorry to hear about the damage done by the storm. It's funny how the weather can behave sometimes.

I just love your log cabin. It really does look like a little baby quilt used on the prairie crossing the Oregon Trail. You sure quited it fast. What pattern will you use next to make another mini? :)
