Another Jane..

What with one DJ finished, I thought I would get back to my DJ cross-stitch and see if I can get that finished.... sometime this year!
I took it my local patchwork group this morning, but as usual, too much chatting, no sewing.
To be honest this type of sewing is best left to when all is quiet and I can concentrate on following the graph and counting the stitches...
It was great to catch up with the girls...only wish I had my camera with me as there was some lovely show and tell....ah, but I asked the girls to bring the show and tell back next week..
For those that might be interested in this sampler it is a Linda Myers design..

Must go and think about what's for dinner.....
Take care...♥

  4. I didn't even know that the pattern existed for Jane in cross stitch! Probably a lot easier to have finished than the quilt! ;)

  6. This is a SUPER project. I never knew there was a DJ cross-stitch. I used to love doing counted cross-stitch but have had trouble with my eyes and can't do it comfortably any longer. Yours is looking wonderful, Julia!

  9. I purchased the DJ cross stitch pattern, kept it for a while, then gave it away. I had lost interest in doing cross stitch. I may have to purchase it again!

  10. Your cross stitch is lovely...I must laugh because before I was allowed to embroider, there was this cross stitch pattern I had to complete. I hated cross stitch, and as a matter of course, I drew everywhere - flowers, small insects and etc. One day my Mom discovered that I'd drawn all over my jeans...down the legs and was going to beat me if I didn't come up with a reasonable explanation for having done it. I quickly came up with the answer that it was a design for embroidering. I not only got out of a beating, but I also managed to get away from the dreaded cross stitching as well...lol. I look forward to seeing your in progress stitchery on the DJ!

  19. What a great pattern Julia - I hadn't seen it before and so perfect for those of us that both quilt and stitch. Congratulations on your Dear Jane quilt finish - I've known a few people that did the whole thing - and yes it took them years. I would never make it through. Yours looks wonderful as does your apple core too!

  20. That is a stunning design, Julia - how lovely it is to have something in the same design as a quilt. I doubt if I could stitch something so complex in a group of chattering ladies!
