What I Did...

Is add a repro caramel sashing, just 1.5 wide, just enough to break up the blocks into sections...it's fabric I had, so I didn't need to go out and buy more.

Oh, how I sometimes wish I could be like others and just let things sit for a while...but no, not me, it's like there's no tomorrow and I need to finish things off now!

I'll add a wider border and machine quilt it...it's not too big to handle, which will be good. I have two blocks left over, which will go on the backing and I'll make a special label for it. I don't know who the blocks are from, but I do know they are from special blogging friends...Thank you girls...♥

This gorgeous little stocking came all the way across the big pond from Di of Quilting is Blissfull..Thank you Di, it's so cute, I love it.....♥

  3. I love how you set your blocks!! Just so pretty. I know what you mean about being big enough to snuggle, but small enough to get through your machine with a minimum of wrestling. Di is so nice! Love your gifts!

  7. Hi Julie--I really like how you have set your blocks--that lattice fabric really sets them off nice--I can get in a hurry too--to at least get the top done--but as I only hand quilt there is a long line waiting......
    Have a great fun week-end--
Hugs, Di---your package got there quick!!!!

  8. LOVE the way you sashed that...and also how you put 4 of the 9-patches together as units and then sashed just those units. I'll have to remember that for one of my quilts sometime.

  11. Oh those blocks make a lovely quilt and I like the sashing fabric you've used. Now me I wouldn't have the right fabric and I would need to run to the quilt store. Your snowman stocking is just delightful.

  18. Julia, that was an excellent choice for the sashing and I really really like how you set those into 4 (9) patches as opposed to individual blocks. Very nicely done!!!

  19. Love the sashing it just sets it off nicely. I know what you mean I have to finish one thing first then I can start another LOL. I have been working on my Orange Peel quilt for months and I need to finish it. It is all paper pieced and is taking forever.

  22. What type of machine do you use to machine quilt your quilts? I've been trying with my thirty-year-old Viking Husvarna, and it just doesn't seem to work very well. I have the correct foots and have practiced and practiced. My small samples work fine, but nothing larger than two fat quarters squashed together. Any tips you have would be greatly appreciated.
