My Apron...

It's a dull very humid day today, so this photo is not the best, they say it's going to rain, it's trying very hard, but nothing yet...

Our guild is having an Apron theme this year for the Christmas wind up party in two weeks time. There will be prizes for all different types of aprons...
I don't particularly like aprons, never wear them, but I just had to join in the fun and go along with the rest of the girls and make one. While my apron is not a prize winner, that's for sure!....it's so bright, they will see me coming!
I thought about putting a pocket on the front...perhaps later on, we'll see!
You would not believe how hard it is to find 25mm purple bias binding here, I went everywhere to find some.....I had to end up buying fabric and making my own, I know I should have just done that right from the start and saved myself the hassles!

Wish it would rain...hope your day is sunny and nice, have a good one...♥

  1. Hi Julia, I love aprons but like you I never actually wear one. I think they remind me of my grandma who always wore one. I like your fabric and the pretty trim. The apron theme Christmas party will be fun, I know. Hope you'll share lots of photos. We actually had a very mild, low-humidity, sunny day. It was just lovely.

  4. Aprons are coming back in style. I like to wear one when I'm cooking. My grandmother was never without hers....except for church on sundays.

  5. I've been thinking of making an apron. I usually only wear one on Sunday. But I thought it would be fun to try.

  6. Aprons are really popular this year. I can remember when I was young, every good housekeeping lady had several. Then it got to where no one used them.

  8. Cute apron. I do wear aprons-sometimes and should do more often. I end up with stains on my clothes otherwise-don't ask how as I have no idea!!
We too are waiting for a storm and rain here in Brisbane-looks promising but we will wait and see.

  9. Your apron looks wonderful! I do have a few of them, but I need to wear them more often. Seems like I ruin everything I wear while cleaning....

  11. Love the fabric in that apron! Isn't it funny how we get something in our head and we look all over for it. Why don't stores have 25mm purple bias binding?

    Love your blog.

  12. I'm like you, not much into aprons. But, if I had to wear one I think I'd like to wear one like you made, all bright and cheerful.

  16. I love aprons. I wear one at home most of the time. But I hate making them! I find them very tedious.
