Dresdens and Bows..

Bows won the vote...
I really loved the idea of bows for the corner blocks, I thought they would suite this quilt perfectly...I played a bit, drew some bows and this is what I've come up with....I think these bows join up the dollies and fit in nicely.

I decided to do a different coloured bow in each corner, the quilt being made up in all different coloured florals...sort of scrappy, I thought that would add some charm and work in well...The inspiration for the borders came from this book "The Fabric of Society" by Annette Gero...and the beautiful 1830's Dancing Dollies coverlet in the book....and to have the pattern in the book to use is a bonus Two corners done...two to go and the top will be finished ready for basting and quilting.

Have a lovely weekend...you girls over east, I have been watching the weather news, boy it's hot there!....take care, hope it's cooler tomorrow.....♥

  2. The bows work really well.
My thoughts also go to those in NSW particularly today-temps in the 40's. Here in Brisbane it was 32 but still ok for a round of golf.

  23. Julia you have created such a sweet border and the bows are perfect.

We are so fortunate to be in a temperate zone and the sea breeze keeps the heat down.
Sth Australia is the nasty area for those really hot temps.(not all of it of course)
