My Dear Jane...inspired by Jane..

Ta dah!...oh I'm so happy to have my DJ sections all together..

It has been a journey that at times seemed such a long way to travel, I didn't think I would ever get this far and nearly gave up many times... even though I still have the borders to do, I'm so happy now that I kept going.
I just absolutely LOVE it!
I was inspired by the original mother quilt, but I just had to do it my way...
The centre medallion basket design piece is by a very talented Aussie quilter Robyn Ahern, I fell in love with the olde worlde vintage look of the basket, and thought it perfect to go with the DJ blocks.
Now to see how I'm going to go about doing the borders...I'll have to think it over for a bit, I have an idea, but whether it works or not is another thing..

Until next time...♥

  16. It looks WONDERFUL!!! I know you did each section "quilt as you go". How did you join them in the back? I'd love to see a photo of that, if you don't mind. SOMEDAY I'm going to do this....but I'm apprehensive about the back of it....and how to do it nicely.

  17. Julia it's stunning!! I really love it, and the centre medallion block is just perfect. What size did you do your blocks?? They look much more 'do-able' than the little 4 1/2 inch ones on the original.
