On My Frame...

Well, I jumped in feet first...loaded the C&CC quilt onto the frame and went for it!
I decided to stick to the loops and hearts that I was practicing before, it just seemed to be the easiest thing to do.....hmm, as long as the quilt police don't come around checking, it's not too bad!

I wasn't sure what to do about the borders, so I decided to leave the borders and do them off the frame on my other sewing machine...at least it won't be as bulky as the whole quilt would have been...it's just a matter of doing something simple and a little different now around the border, then the binding....
Hope you have had a great day...I'm just so pleased to have accomplished this today....♥

  5. Hi Julia
You should be very pleased with yourself. Job well done. BTW that Backing fabric of birds is one of my favourites. A treasured part of my stash. The Quilt will look great on a bed with the turn back showing birds.
Enjoyed Harry P tonight. Only screamed once :-) Think the Audience jumped out of their skins.

  6. It looks like you have mastered it to me, Julia! I love the hearts and loops. I do those on my Bernina as they seem easier to me for such a small throat space. I am so glad you jumped right in. You should be pleased with your work!!

  14. Good idea to do the main body of the quilt on the frame and borders on your regular machine. Wish I had the option of doing something on a frame!

  16. FAN-Tastic!!! I'm so excited for you and I agree that sticking with the loops & hearts was a nice place to begin. Always best to put ourselves in the position to succeed. Especially the first time out. That's how a person gets a feel for things, builds some confidence.

My day has improved infinitely now that I came by and got to see how things are going at your place! :)

  20. Way to go! Just jumping right in is the way to do it and the quilting looks great and really goes with the piecing...doesn't overpower it and lets the pieced design and fabrics shine through!
