Apple Core Quilt ...binding

I woke up yesterday all fired up and in the mood to get my apple core quilt finished....but I ran out of the quilting thread!

It would have been lovely hand quilted...and I would have liked to hand quilt this quilt, but I'm having a lot of trouble with my arthritic hands...so decided to machine quilt it instead, at least it will get done quicker this way.
At first, I thought the red fabric was a bit too bright, but I think it's growing on me now, and I like it...
In the close-up...you can see, I am quilting around the apple cores just a 1/4 inch in from the seam...
So while I had no quilting thread to finish off the quilting, I thought I would get to and add the binding...at least the day and my enthusiasm was not wasted...
OK, just need to buy some more thread today and hopefully it will be finished by tonight.
This one's for me....my winter lap quilt!

Have a nice day and stay safe...♥

  6. I just think this is beautiful! Machine quilting does go faster. I am doing several of my next projects this way for that very reason. I do love the look of hand quilting, but with so much to do and so little time the machine comes in handy.

I love these colors! So very nice!

  22. This is a very nice quilt. I bought the template for the apple core but haven't used it yet, because it seems difficult to me with the curves that need to be seamed. Thanks for visiting my blog, too.
