Yay!... Grandma's Garden ...finished!

It's finished...I'm so happy!
It seemed like I would never get this quilt quilted...going around all those little hexes was starting to feel like a chore....but I finished all the hand-quilting last night!
This morning as soon as I got up I put it through the washer on a gentle cycle and laid it out on my outdoor table in the shade to dry...shouldn't take too long to dry, it's going to be 38 degrees Celsius today!

I wasn't sure what to quilt in the setting triangles...looked through all my books and then decided on just a simple garland. I think this was enough to finish it and set it off...
It's washed up beautifully and has got that lovely old fashioned charm about the quilt.
So glad it's finished...

Happy stitching...♥

  1. Julia, what a great quilt and quilting. My very first quilt was a grandmother's flower garden quilt which I handpieced and hand quilted too. I can not tell you enough how pretty your quilt is.

  2. Your quilting makes it look awesome. I never know how to quilt a piece....I get so frustrated at that point and usually have it machine quilted.
    Thanks for sharing!

  5. The quilt is just beautiful. I've always wanted to make a Grandmothers Flower garden. I love your quilting & think the garland looks great. I brought home my Mum's Grandmother Flower garden to finish for her. I'm inspired now to get it out & finally start working on it.

  7. So very pretty - makes me happy just to see the pretty colors and beautiful handwork. I've been keeping up with your scorching weather. Hope you get some relief soon. By the way, I love Joe's blog. He posted a recipe just for me on Georgia's Vidalia onions!!!
