New Year Quilt..progress.

This is the new year's quilt I've been working on...
It's a gorgeous quilt called "The Civil War Quilt" from Patchwork on Stoneleigh in Victoria Australia...specialists in antique reproduction fabrics.
Unfortunately they don't have a web site that I could share with you...

I have really enjoyed working on this quilt...a lot of sewing of small pieces, but really worth all the effort.
I'm going to make it a little smaller than the original, but it should still be a good size for our queen size bed...

I know I shouldn't, but I can't help myself...

Above is another new quilt project I'm starting. I'm joining a Quilt-along organized by Robyn of Daisy Quilts see the button on my sidebar....I will be in good company as Lurline and Christine are doing it too....this should be fun!

I just need to pick my fabrics and get started on it..

Must dash, another hot day coming up....until next time..♥

  1. Julia, your quilt is going to be gorgeous. I love those colors! I checked that book out from my library a long time ago. I think I am going to again. The hexagon quilt along sounds like fun. I was thinking of doing it. Maybe a little later on. Keep up the good work.

  2. I love the Civil War Quilt! The Quilt-a-long quilt...umm...pretty, but too many pieces for me!
There is a quilt pattern at one of my favorite quilt shops called, "Oh my gosh!" The funny thing is, when I saw all the tiny squares stitched together I said, "Oh my Gosh!" right before I saw the patterns name! Funny!

  5. Your quilt is gorgeous, I've admired this pattern in magazines. Luline suggested I join the hexagon quilt along but I think I'm already overloaded with quilting at the moment so I'll just have to keep track of you guys doing it.

  9. I have often looked at that pattern when Patchwork on Stoneleigh used to have ads in Australian Patchwork and Quilting and thought I'd love to make it. Are they still open? I haven't seen an ad for the shop for quite some time. I'd love to see if they have a mail order catalogue of their beautiful patterns. Happy stitching,Rowena

  13. I love both the quilts, especially the hexagon quilt. Is there a pattern for it? What size hexagons did you use?
