Comfort cushions for sick little kids...
In December, our quilty group of girls meet at Matilda Bay, by our beautiful Swan river in Perth for an end of year picnic windup get together..... we exchange a secret Santa gift and donate a cushion or two for the sick little kids and their siblings that go to the Ronald McDonald house.
You may remember last year I made these comfort cushions for the kiddies at Ronald McDonald house..
This year I have made these two cute cushions. Just simple cushions, to let the little ones know someone is thinking of them..
These cushions are comforting for the little ones, they love them and most times become a bit of a security cushion for them to cuddle up with when they are frightened and not feeling the best.
Ronald McDonald House is just across from the children's hospital and enables families with a child undergoing treatment for cancer or other life threatening illnesses at our children's Princess Margaret Hospital to stay together in a safe and homelike environment during treatment...
Some families come up from outback country towns, having the house to stay in takes away the worry and stress of finding a place to stay or travelling to and fro.
Just a little thing to do, that hopefully will make a little child feel better.
Jenny a dear quilting friend shared the cute cat design with us..I thought he was perfect for this fabric and cushion..what little kid doesn't like a Kittie..
Perhaps you might like to do the same for a Ronald McDonald house near you..
Have a lovely day..
