Carolina Crossroads...with borders

The borders are on!

Thank you girls for all the comments about what colours to use on the border, I took your advice and you were all right..... burgundy was the only way to go.

I added a 1 1/2 inch green framing border, then a 3 inch burgundy border, and that pulls all the colours in the quilt together.

There are 2,180 pieces of fabric in the quilt, it measures 73 inches x 61 inches.
Now it's just a matter of quilting it, I've never done them before, I but would love to have a go at doing feathers freehand down the border, might have to give that a try.

I'm off to a sewing day with friends, have a lovely day...

  4. It's absolutely beautiful. Give the feathers a try - they aren't as hard as one might think. Try them with pencil and paper first, about 50 times. =) Figure out how you need your needle to go.
