Japanese Quilt Block # 1... Fan

Well, I've sketched out a rough draft of the quilt I plan to make, and made a start on it..
Here is the first of the blocks.
I just had to do a fan block...it wouldn't be a Japanese quilt without a fan block, would it!
I think I shall do two of these fan blocks, and space them out in the quilt layout.
A couple of Noshi blocks would look nice too, and perhaps a butterfly or two.
The quilt is to go into a quilt show and it has to be specific size to meet their rules and specifications.
The minimum size is to be over 126cm in any direction, so I will have to be very careful and make sure it measures up..

  6. Wow, I love the way the fabrics went together! It's one thing to see them all laid out, and quite another to see them in a block or quilt. This is going to be a beautiful project.

Love the pic of your and Maureen's DHs. How I wish I could jump on down for Easter and join you all! =) Not a chance, though, so you are safe!
